Dian Kostov: Crossroads – The Price of Choice
From Sunday 16 June 2024 to Sunday 18 August 2024, the works of the Bulgarian artist Dian Kostov will be on display in the Basilica.
The Koekelberg Basilica ranks fifth among the world’s largest churches, after the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Paix in Yamoussokro on the Ivory Coast, St Peter’s in Rome, St Paul’s in London and Santa Maria Dei Fiori in Florence.
Today, the church is in the first place a place of prayer for peace. The church is still used for celebrations of the parish or for big national celebrations.
Visitors and tourists are also welcome to tour this beautiful building.
In the run-up to the Pope’s visit, the Basilica will exceptionally be closed to tourists, the public and the faithful from Monday, September 23, 2024 to Monday, September 30, 2024.
The museums, the shop and the panorama will be closed.
On September the 28th, the Basilica will be open to the people invited to the Pope’s visit.
From Sunday 16 June 2024 to Sunday 18 August 2024, the works of the Bulgarian artist Dian Kostov will be on display in the Basilica.
